Our lab is located at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, Germany. The HZI is part of the Helmholtz Association of research centers, the larget research organiziation in Germany, and we have close ties to the Technische Universität Braunschweig, the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, and the Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen (DSMZ).

Braunschweig, also known as the City of Lions, is the second-largest city in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany, and is located pretty centrally in Northern Germany with short travel times to Hamburg, Hannover, or Berlin. The city looks back on a long history starting in medieval times, which is beautifully reflected in today’s cityscape.
