Welcome to the website of the Wirbel-Lab, also known as the Precision Microbial Genomics (PMIG) lab at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig, Germany. We aim to better understand the dynamic evolution of microbial genomes within host-associated communities, using technologies such as long-read sequencing and novel bioinformatic analysis frameworks.
